Services and Appointments

Appointments

Our appointments last for 15-minutes; however, if more time is needed to evaluate your pet or discuss his diagnosis or treatment, we take the time to ensure that you understand your pet's condition as well as possible. It may be helpful to write questions down before coming in for your appointment. Though we don't mind answering your questions over the phone, often it is much more helpful to answer them in the setting of the examination.

We do ask that you arrive at least 5-10 minutes early before for your appointment, to help us stay on schedule. If this will be your pet’s first visit to us, we ask that you arrive 15-minutes early to complete the necessary paperwork.

At Crestwood, we try to help you with all of your pet's health needs. Sometimes, we do find it necessary to refer you to a specialist for further diagnosis and treatment. For your convenience, some of the specialists will come directly to our office. For others, you will need to go to their offices. Whichever is the case, you may have confidence in our network of specialists—they are truly the best in their fields!

Types of procedures

Monday through Friday we perform surgeries, dental cleanings, radiographs (X-rays) and other procedures that require anesthesia or tranquilizers from 10am to Noon (we do not typically schedule appointments during these hours). We also do emergency surgeries at other times, if needed.

Examples of procedures we perform are:

  Routine Wellness Care

  Skin Problems
  Geriatric Care
  Pediatric Care
  Spays and Neuters
  Vaccinations
  Biopsies
  Tumor Removals
  Fracture Repairs
  Knee Surgeries
  Exploratory Surgery
  Intestinal and Stomach Surgeries
  Abscess Surgeries
  Eye and Eyelid Surgeries
  Dental Cleanings
  Tooth Extractions

...and many more!

If your pet is having behavior problems, we recommend an examination to be sure there is not a medical reason that they are "misbehaving". Once the examination is complete, we can suggest ways to help stop the inappropriate behavior. After we have ruled out medical problems, we will not just talk to you on the day of your exam, but we will also follow-up with phone calls, when necessary.

Senior pets Our "senior citizen" pets benefit from a little extra care. Pets that are over 8-years old should be examined every 6-months (twice a year). Remember that dogs and cats age much more quickly than we do! If a “dog year” is almost seven of our years, we sure don’t want to wait that long between exams. Our older pets can have some pretty extreme health changes through the course of a normal year. Our goal is to detect the changes before they become life-threatening.

For pets 8-years old and older, we also recommend an annual blood and urine screen at the time of their annual physical. The "Senior Screen" keeps an eye on the things we can’t always see such as liver and kidney values, thyroid level, and glucose level. By routinely checking these basic blood values, we can monitor your pet for diseases and treat them early, before they become potentially life-threatening and more expensive and difficult to treat.
Pet boarding

We do have boarding facilities available for our clients, as well. Both runs and kennels are available for your pets. Many patients need medications administered while their owners are out of town. Our facilities are the perfect place! You can be assured that your pet will receive his medicine on time!

We provide your pet’s bedding and food (Science Diet).  If you prefer to bring your pet’s regular food you may do so, as well as any special toys.  Early booking for holidays is recommended.  Please call us for availability, scheduling, and prices.
